About the position

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) role at Bristol Myers Squibb focuses on engaging in scientific dialogue with healthcare leaders to translate scientific knowledge into patient care. The MSL will work closely with healthcare professionals, capturing medical insights and providing clinical and scientific support to ensure effective use of BMS medicines. This field-based position requires a strong understanding of oncology and the ability to communicate complex scientific information effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Develop trusted relationships with academic and community Thought Leaders in Oncology through scientific dialogue.
  • Engage in medical conversations to inform the development of a medical plan focused on product and disease area.
  • Collaborate with medical societies and patient advocacy groups as appropriate.
  • Provide training for external speakers as needed.
  • Engage payers during pre- and peri-launch phases.
  • Address unsolicited HCP questions in real-time through Medical on Call capability.
  • Document and achieve annual goals related to medical engagement.
  • Support clinical trial engagement and provide insights on study feasibilities.
  • Liaise with key accounts to understand barriers to patient access.
  • Support HCPs in the ISR submission and execution process.

Requirements

  • MD, PharmD, PhD, APP, PA, NP with experience in a specific Disease Area or relevant pharmaceutical experience.
  • Experience in a scientific and/or clinical research environment, with field medical expertise preferred.
  • Strong Oncology experience and understanding of treatment trends and clinical landscape.
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical industry compliance and regulatory guidelines.
  • Understanding of scientific publications and clinical trial design.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with digital communication tools and CRM software.
  • Familiarity with real-world evidence (RWE) projects.
  • Ability to analyze market trends and HCP preferences.
