About the position

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) for Oncology at Ipsen Biopharmaceuticals Inc. serves as a field-based medical expert within the Medical Affairs Organization. The role focuses on engaging in scientific exchange with Thought Leaders (TL) and Healthcare Providers (HCP) to enhance the understanding of Ipsen's oncology and hematology products. The MSL is responsible for generating insights, responding to inquiries, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support medical strategy and compliance in the oncology therapeutic area.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate deep scientific expertise on Ipsen's Oncology/Hematology molecules/products.
  • Build, cultivate and maintain relationships with regional thought leaders.
  • Respond to on and off-label questions with integrity and compliance.
  • Represent Ipsen at scientific conferences and medical meetings.
  • Gather data and generate scientific insights from stakeholder interactions.
  • Capture scientific insights to share with internal stakeholders.
  • Respond to requests regarding investigator sponsored studies (ISS) and support submissions.
  • Assist with Company Sponsored Studies (CSS) from Phase I-IV.
  • Respond to unsolicited requests for medical information.
  • Train and facilitate speakers on Ipsen's products.
  • Build relationships across internal stakeholders while maintaining compliance.
  • Balance work to enhance performance and execute local medical plan strategies.
  • Participate on committees or project teams supporting MSL strategies.
  • Engage in continuous independent learning within the therapeutic area.

Requirements

  • Doctoral level in the sciences required (MD, DO, PhD, PharmD, DPT, Nursing or equivalent).
  • 3-5 years related work experience.
  • Minimum 2 years Oncology MSL experience preferred.
  • Previous experience with product launches and life cycle management.
  • Excellent planning, presentation, written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain credible relationships with experts.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills and ability to function on a cross-functional team.
  • Knowledge of PhRMA, OIG, and guidelines for compliant medical communications.
  • Knowledge of oncology/hematology customer segments and market dynamics.
  • Fundamental understanding of clinical research.
  • Excellent project management ability.
