The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) for Ophthalmology is a critical role within the organization, responsible for developing and maintaining professional relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. This position is field-based and covers the New York City area, including territories in New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island. The MSL will provide comprehensive medical and scientific support for the company's initiatives in ophthalmology, particularly focusing on current and future therapies that are either in development or already commercialized. In this role, the MSL will facilitate information sharing, education, and research activities for healthcare professionals, including physicians and ancillary staff. The MSL will work closely with various departments to ensure that the educational and research needs of healthcare professionals are met, while also addressing the scientific and technical training needs of the commercial organization. This position is contracted for a duration of two years, emphasizing the importance of building long-term relationships and providing ongoing support in the therapeutic area of ophthalmology. The MSL will be tasked with identifying, developing, and maintaining relationships with thought leaders and academic centers, ensuring that they have access to the latest medical and scientific information regarding the company's products. The MSL will also be responsible for presenting data on products to healthcare professionals and supporting research initiatives as requested by the Research and Development, Clinical Operations, and Medical Affairs departments. Additionally, the MSL will serve as an internal medical and scientific resource, contributing to the development of disease-state and product communications that are medically accurate and compliant with regulatory guidelines. Training for internal personnel will also be a key responsibility, along with maintaining budget parameters and ensuring accurate documentation of all activities.
