About the position

The Senior Medical Science Liaison (Sr.MSL) is a field-based representative of US Medical Affairs at Eisai, primarily responsible for engaging with healthcare providers and other external stakeholders to exchange scientific data and medical information related to oncology. This role involves understanding customer needs, providing insights on research developments, and mentoring less experienced MSLs. The Sr.MSL plays a crucial role in communicating Eisai's mission and products, supporting strategic initiatives, and fostering relationships with key opinion leaders in the therapeutic area.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary clinical/scientific resource to healthcare providers in the territory.
  • Serve as a conduit for accurate and updated clinical, scientific, and medical information between KOLs and the company's Medical Affairs.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders in therapeutic areas of interest.
  • Share knowledge and participate in scientific exchanges with identified KOLs.
  • Present clinical, scientific, and economic data on Eisai's products to decision-makers.
  • Support assigned professional congresses and lead MSL activities as required.
  • Identify and report key scientific insights from KOLs to Medical Affairs.
  • Develop and implement plans to support Medical Affairs strategic direction.

Requirements

  • Advanced terminal D degree in medical or health sciences (e.g., M.D., PhD, PharmD).
  • Minimum of 3 years MSL experience in the therapeutic area of interest.
  • 3-5 years of industry/clinical pharmacist/research experience in a scientific or clinical setting.
  • Strong broad-based scientific and pharmaceutical knowledge.
  • Clinical trial development and drug launch experience is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of treatment guidelines, clinical research processes, FDA regulations, and OIG guidelines.
  • Established relationships with key opinion leaders in therapeutic areas of interest.
