About the position

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is a field-based representative of US Medical Affairs at Eisai, primarily responsible for engaging with external customers, including healthcare providers and researchers, to exchange scientific data and medical information related to oncology. The MSL plays a crucial role in communicating key information about Eisai's products, facilitating research collaborations, and providing insights from the field to inform strategic direction within the company.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary clinical/scientific resource to healthcare providers in the territory.
  • Serve as a conduit for accurate and updated clinical, scientific, and medical information between Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and the company's Medical Affairs and development groups.
  • Establish and maintain peer relationships with KOLs in relevant therapeutic areas.
  • Share knowledge and participate in scientific exchanges with identified KOLs.
  • Present clinical, scientific, and economic data on Eisai's products to decision-makers as requested.
  • Identify and report key scientific insights from KOLs to Medical Affairs.
  • Develop and implement plans to support Medical Affairs strategic direction for assigned territory.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of disease state, study methodology, clinical information, and product data.
  • Serve as a technical/scientific resource to Eisai commercial personnel when requested.
  • Facilitate review and follow-up of submitted Investigator-Initiated Studies (IISs) and assist with Eisai sponsored trials.
  • Support Eisai's collaboration with professional organizations and advocacy groups.

Requirements

  • Advanced terminal D degree in medical or health sciences (e.g., M.D., PhD, PharmD, DPH, EdD).
  • 3-5 years of industry/clinical pharmacist/research experience in a scientific or clinical setting.
  • Strong broad-based scientific and pharmaceutical knowledge.
  • Excellent presentation and teaching skills.
  • Knowledge of treatment guidelines, clinical research processes, FDA regulations, and OIG guidelines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Understanding of the role and contributions of Medical Science Liaisons and Medical Affairs.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess issues and think strategically.

Nice-to-haves

  • Clinical trial development experience is preferred.
  • Established relationships with key opinion leaders in therapeutic areas of interest.
