About the position

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) at Eisai serves as a key representative of US Medical Affairs, focusing on engaging with healthcare providers and other external stakeholders to exchange scientific data and medical information. The MSL plays a crucial role in communicating Eisai's mission and products, providing insights from the field, and supporting the company's strategic direction in neurology and oncology. This position requires a strong background in medical or health sciences and involves significant interaction with key opinion leaders and decision-makers in the healthcare community.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary clinical/scientific resource to healthcare providers in the territory.
  • Serve as a conduit for accurate and updated clinical, scientific, and medical information between KOLs and the company's Medical Affairs.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders in relevant therapeutic areas.
  • Present clinical, scientific, and economic data on Eisai's products to decision-makers as requested.
  • Identify and report key scientific insights from KOLs to Medical Affairs.
  • Develop and implement plans to support Medical Affairs strategic direction for assigned territory.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of disease state, study methodology, and product data.
  • Facilitate review and follow up of submitted Investigator-Initiated Studies (IISs).
  • Support Eisai's collaboration with professional organizations and advocacy groups.

Requirements

  • Advanced terminal D degree in medical or health sciences (e.g., M.D., PhD, PharmD, DPH, EdD).
  • 3-5 years of industry/clinical pharmacist/research experience in a scientific or clinical setting.
  • Strong broad-based scientific and pharmaceutical knowledge.
  • Excellent presentation and teaching skills.
  • Knowledge of treatment guidelines, clinical research processes, FDA regulations, and OIG guidelines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Understanding of the role and contributions of Medical Science Liaisons and Medical Affairs.

Nice-to-haves

  • Clinical trial development experience is preferred.
  • Established relationships with key opinion leaders in therapeutic areas of interest.
  • Sound computer skills including applications for word processing and spreadsheets.
