About the position

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) for Oncology at Ipsen Biopharmaceuticals Inc. serves as a field-based medical expert within the Medical Affairs Organization. The role focuses on engaging in scientific exchange with Thought Leaders (TL) and Healthcare Providers (HCP) to enhance the understanding of Ipsen's oncology and hematology products. The MSL is responsible for generating insights, responding to inquiries, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support medical strategy and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate deep scientific expertise on Ipsen's Oncology/Hematology products and therapeutic areas.
  • Build and maintain relationships with regional thought leaders to understand healthcare trends.
  • Respond to on and off-label questions with integrity and compliance.
  • Represent Ipsen at scientific conferences and medical meetings.
  • Gather data and generate scientific insights from stakeholder interactions.
  • Capture scientific insights to share with internal stakeholders.
  • Support investigator sponsored studies (ISS) submissions and respond to related requests.
  • Assist with Company Sponsored Studies (CSS) from Phase I-IV, including site management.
  • Train and facilitate speakers on Ipsen's products.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders while maintaining compliance with regulations.
  • Balance work to enhance performance and execute local medical plan strategies.
  • Participate in committees or project teams supporting MSL strategies.
  • Engage in continuous learning and upskilling related to Ipsen products.

Requirements

  • Doctoral level in the sciences (MD, DO, PhD, PharmD, DPT, Nursing or equivalent) required.
  • 3-5 years of related work experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of Oncology MSL experience preferred.
  • Previous experience with product launches and life cycle management.
  • Excellent planning, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with top experts.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills for cross-functional teamwork.
  • Expertise in synthesizing and communicating medical information.
  • Knowledge of PhRMA, OIG, and compliant medical communications.
  • Understanding of oncology/hematology customer segments and market dynamics.
  • Ability to discuss scientific content to multiple audiences.
  • Fundamental understanding of clinical research.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Strong leadership and collaboration capabilities.
