About the position

The position involves greeting donors at a plasma collection center and conducting registration procedures to verify donor suitability for the plasma pheresis process. The role includes assisting qualified donors through the screening process, educating new donors, and maintaining accurate donor records while ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Greet donors at the plasma collection center and conduct registration procedures to verify donor suitability.
• Assist qualified donors in completing the screening process in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Perform health screening procedures such as blood pressure, pulse, weight, temperature, and finger stick for hematocrit and total protein levels.
• Educate new donors on the use of therapeutic products made from donated plasma, including the screening process and center policies.
• Answer telephone inquiries and transfer calls to appropriate staff members as needed.
• Maintain alertness to any reactions by donors during or after the pheresis process and notify appropriate staff.
• Alert Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues.
• Ensure accurate recording of donor data in the electronic donor information management system as outlined in SOPs.
• Maintain a clean and efficient work environment and ensure sufficient operating supplies are available.
• Follow all Health Safety & Environmental (HSE) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) policies and procedures.
• Maintain confidentiality of all personnel, donor, and center information.
• May be cross-trained in other areas to meet business needs.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of three (3) months experience in a clerical or customer service related position, preferably in a medical or health provider environment.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations.
