About the position

The position is responsible for greeting donors at the plasma collection center and conducting a series of registration procedures to verify donor suitability for the plasma pheresis process. The role involves assisting qualified donors in completing the screening process, which includes assessing self-administered health history, answering basic medical questions, and performing health screening procedures such as blood pressure, pulse, weight, and temperature. The individual may also educate new donors about the use of therapeutic products made from donated plasma and ensure that all donor questions are answered timely and accurately. Additionally, the position may involve registering applicants and transfer donors, maintaining donor data in the electronic management system, and ensuring a clean and efficient work environment while following health and safety policies.

Responsibilities

  • Assist qualified donors in completing the screening process according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Perform health screening procedures such as blood pressure, pulse, weight, and temperature.
  • Educate new donors on the use of therapeutic products made from donated plasma after appropriate training.
  • Answer donor questions and provide information about the donation process, appointment system, and center policies.
  • Register applicants and transfer donors based on training and operational needs.
  • Maintain alertness to any reactions by donors during or after the pheresis process and notify appropriate staff.
  • Record donor data accurately in the electronic donor information management system as per SOPs.
  • Understand policies and procedures associated with hyper immune programs at the center if applicable.
  • Maintain a clean and efficient work environment and ensure sufficient operating supplies are available.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all personnel, donor, and center information.
  • May be cross-trained in other areas to meet business needs.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of three (3) months experience in a clerical or customer service related position, preferably in a medical or health provider environment.
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations.
  • Ability to understand, remember, and apply oral and/or written instructions.
  • Ability to understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines.
