About the position
The position involves greeting donors at a plasma collection center and conducting registration procedures to verify donor suitability for the plasma pheresis process. The role requires compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and includes assisting qualified donors through the screening process, performing health screenings, and educating new donors about the donation process and related information.
Responsibilities
- Greet donors and conduct registration procedures to verify donor suitability.
- Assist qualified donors in completing the screening process in compliance with SOPs.
- Perform health screening procedures such as blood pressure, pulse, weight, and temperature checks.
- Conduct finger stick tests to obtain samples for hematocrit and total protein levels.
- Educate new donors on the use of therapeutic products made from donated plasma after appropriate training.
- Answer donor questions accurately and professionally.
- Register applicants and transfer donors based on training and operational needs.
- Maintain accurate donor data in the electronic donor information management system.
- Ensure a clean and efficient work environment and maintain sufficient operating supplies.
- Follow Health Safety & Environmental (HSE) and OSHA policies and procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality of all personnel, donor, and center information.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of three (3) months experience in a clerical or customer service related position, preferably in a medical or health provider environment.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations.
- Ability to understand, remember, and apply oral and/or written instructions.
