About the position

The Medical Scribe position at Vitreo-Retinal Associates in Grand Rapids, MI, is a full-time role that requires the candidate to work on-site. The scribe will be responsible for efficiently and accurately completing the Electronic Health Record (EHR) for all exams, testing interpretations, referrals, and notes. This role is crucial in ensuring quality documentation in patients' health records and requires effective collaboration with physicians and other team members. The position may also involve occasional travel to the office in Kalamazoo, MI, with mileage reimbursement provided. The working hours are Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with the possibility of needing to work earlier or later as required. Additionally, there may be on-call shifts on weekends as needed. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, the ability to recognize inconsistencies and missing data, and excellent communication skills to interact effectively with physicians and the executive team. Responsibilities

  • Efficient and accurate data entry in the EHR system based on Physician dictation.
  • Maintain great attention to detail and recognize inconsistencies and missing necessary data.
  • Work independently and effectively communicate with Physicians, the Executive Director, and other team members.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • One year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Favorable result on background check required.
  • Must be able to provide proof of identity and right to work in the United States.

Nice-to-haves

  • Medical scribe/transcription experience preferred, but not required.
  • Basic medical terminology knowledge preferred.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Good organization skills.
