About the position
Living Water Clinic is seeking a detail-oriented Medical Scribe to assist healthcare providers by accurately documenting patient encounters and managing medical records. The role requires effective communication and a strong attention to detail, ensuring that all patient information is recorded accurately and confidentially.
Responsibilities
- Record patient encounters and medical histories as directed by healthcare providers.
- Use electronic medical record (EMR) systems to organize and maintain medical records.
- Ensure coding and documentation are done correctly for insurance purposes.
- Work closely with healthcare providers during and post examination to gather necessary information during patient visits.
- Prepare medical charts for appointments and follow-ups.
- Help healthcare providers access and review patient test results, reports, and records.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and protect their information.
- Coordinate with the billing department to submit accurate medical claims.
- Stay updated on medical terminology, procedures, and coding practices.
- Provide administrative support to healthcare providers when needed.
Requirements
- Bilingual (English + Spanish)
- Understanding of medical terminology and coding.
- Experience as a medical scribe is highly preferred.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of medical regulations and patient privacy laws (HIPAA).
