About the position

The Medical Scribe at Compass Oncology plays a crucial role in supporting physicians by documenting patient interactions in real-time during clinical visits. This position is integral to ensuring accurate medical records and facilitating communication between patients and medical staff. The scribe will work closely with a physician at the East Cancer Clinic, utilizing Electronic Medical Record software to assist in various administrative tasks, thereby enhancing the overall patient experience.

Responsibilities

• Follow the physician throughout the workday and chart patient encounters in real-time using the Electronic Health Record system.
• Generate referral letters for physicians and manage medical documents within the EHR system.
• Assist with e-prescribing and handle data management tasks for physicians in real-time.
• Apply knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology to transcribe and proofread medical dictation.
• Transcribe physician dictation including notes, letters, history and physical reports, and other correspondence as requested.
• Clarify unclear or incomplete dictation, seeking assistance as necessary.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or other healthcare-related coursework including anatomy, physiology, and/or medical terminology preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of applicable experience or graduation from a Scribe training program is highly desired.
• Personable with effective multitasking skills and a high regard for excellent customer service.
• Excellent computer skills and typing proficiency.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
