About the position

CityMD is seeking a dedicated Medical Scribe to join our team in Bloomfield, NJ. As a Medical Scribe, you will play a crucial role in supporting our physicians by managing their clerical duties, allowing them to focus on delivering high-quality patient care. This position is ideal for individuals interested in pursuing careers in healthcare, such as Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA), Medical Assistants (MA), Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT), or Paramedics. It offers excellent exposure to the healthcare profession, making it a valuable addition to your resume if you are considering medical school or physician assistant (PA) school. In this role, you will be responsible for obtaining and documenting patients' medical histories, recording dictated notes during patient visits in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system, and facilitating necessary diagnostic tests. You will also provide exceptional customer service to our patients, ensuring they feel cared for and supported throughout their visit. The position requires maintaining a quick pace in a fast-paced urgent care environment, which can involve shifts lasting between 8 to 12 hours, excluding meal and break times. Your responsibilities will include assisting physicians with basic patient care and medical procedures, communicating with patients, pharmacies, and other healthcare providers under physician guidance, and helping to maintain a clean and professional working environment. Additionally, you will assist in training and acclimating new hire scribes, contributing to a collaborative team atmosphere.

Responsibilities

  • Relieve physicians of clerical duties to focus on patient care.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Bilingual language skills preferred based on site location.
  • Computer and typing skills required, minimum of 45 wpm.
  • Flexible with full-time work schedule including weekends.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • High attention to detail and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Experience in any service industry is a plus.
