About the position

The Medical Staff Coordinator supports the medical staff committees and the credentialing and re-credentialing processes for members of the Medical Staff and Allied Health Professionals. Initial applications and reappointment applications are processed in accordance with established policies, rules and regulations, bylaws, and regulatory governmental standards thereby ensuring that only qualified practitioners provide care within the hospital. He/she participates in projects initiated by the medical staff.

Responsibilities

  • Support medical staff committees
  • Process initial and reappointment applications for medical staff and allied health professionals
  • Ensure compliance with established policies, rules, regulations, and bylaws
  • Participate in projects initiated by the medical staff

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 3 years of experience in hospital or managed care credentialing
  • Knowledge of modern office equipment operations
  • Database and computer literacy
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong organization, planning, and time management skills

Nice-to-haves

  • Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred
  • NAMSS certification preferred, with the expectation to obtain it within 3 years of employment
