Responsibilities

  • Manage pre- and post-surgical appointments to ensure readiness for patients' procedures.
  • Review scheduling information and resolve scheduling issues.
  • Process referrals between the military treatment facility and local hospitals and providers.
  • Request approval for operating room space with local hospitals under the External Resource Sharing Agreement.
  • Maintain office files.
  • Receive patients and others as the initial point of contact, in person or telephonically.
  • Prepare charts for next day procedures.

Requirements

  • One year of specialized experience managing surgical schedules using automated surgical scheduling systems.
  • Experience advising medical personnel, staff, and/or management regarding scheduling.
  • Experience preparing memorandums, reports, and/or correspondence for medical professionals, staff, and/or management.
