About the position

The Medical Surgical Med Surg PM Unit Nursing Operations Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and clinical practices of a 48+ bed unit within a prestigious hospital. This role involves planning, organizing, directing, and controlling nursing operations to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care across a diverse patient population. The coordinator will work closely with the Nurse Manager and a skilled team of nurses, supporting the hospital's mission and strategic goals while promoting staff development and patient advocacy.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, direct, and control daily operations of the Medical Surgical Med Surg PM Unit.
  • Coordinate all functions within the unit to ensure quality individualized patient care.
  • Manage the nursing team to provide care for patients ranging from neonate to geriatric.
  • Support and maintain the budget prepared by unit leadership, managing labor and inventory control.
  • Serve as a liaison with medical staff and other personnel.
  • Promote the growth and development of each employee within the unit.
  • Support nursing research and assure patient advocacy.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Charge Nurse in Medical Acute Care or Medical Surgical leadership roles.
  • Strong leadership and management skills in a clinical setting.
  • Ability to coordinate and manage a diverse team of healthcare professionals.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a large healthcare system.
