About the position

The Medical Surgical Telemetry Unit Night Shift Nursing Operations Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and clinical practices of a 48+ bed unit within a prestigious hospital. This role involves planning, organizing, directing, and controlling unit functions to ensure quality patient care across a diverse patient population. The coordinator will work closely with nursing staff and management to support the hospital's mission and strategic goals while promoting employee development and patient advocacy.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, direct, and control daily operations of the Medical Surgical Telemetry Unit.
  • Coordinate all functions within the unit to provide quality individualized patient care.
  • Manage the team to ensure effective clinical practice and patient outcomes.
  • Support and maintain the unit budget, including labor and inventory control.
  • Serve as a liaison with medical staff and other personnel.
  • Promote the growth and development of each employee within the unit.
  • Support nursing research and assure patient advocacy.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Charge Nurse in Medical Acute Care or Medical Surgical leadership roles.
  • Strong leadership and management skills in a clinical setting.
  • Ability to manage a diverse team and coordinate patient care effectively.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in Telemetry nursing.
  • Familiarity with budget management in a healthcare setting.
