Responsibilities
- Perform quality sample nucleic acid extractions using manual, automated, and semi-automated methods per standard operating procedures.
- Ensure timely storage of clinical samples according to written procedures.
- Prepare, store, and use reagents appropriately, maintaining proper documentation.
- Complete all paperwork and maintain quality records in accordance with Good Documentation Practices.
- Adhere to internal and external quality control procedures.
- Report any mistakes or quality issues to laboratory management immediately.
- Assist with the evaluation and validation of new extraction methods as needed.
- Participate in required Continuous Education requirements.
- Conduct all other tasks relevant to the general running of the molecular laboratory as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, or Chemistry.
- 1+ year of laboratory experience.
- Experience with manual nucleic acid extraction and pipetting.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience working with a Laboratory Information System.
- Experience working with clinical laboratory specimens, especially whole blood.
