About the position

The Medical Technologist/Clinical Lab Scientist at Mother Frances Hospital is responsible for performing clinical testing across various laboratory sections, including Blood Bank and Microbiology. This role ensures accurate and timely results through quality control, performance improvement, and equipment maintenance. The technologist will also handle clerical tasks and phlebotomy duties, while providing necessary blood products to medical staff.

Responsibilities

• Perform clinical testing in the general laboratory, Blood Bank, and Microbiology sections.
• Ensure accurate and timely results through quality control and performance improvement.
• Conduct proficiency testing and preventative maintenance of laboratory equipment.
• Recognize abnormal critical values and notify medical team members according to guidelines.
• Perform clerical, general, and phlebotomy duties related to daily laboratory operations.
• Provide and dispense blood products as requested by medical staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in clinical or medical laboratory science, medical technology, or biological science, or foreign equivalent.
• Nationally recognized certification (such as ASCP, NCA, AMT, or eligible).
