Responsibilities

• Perform various laboratory tests and procedures on patient specimens.
• Adhere to standard operating procedures during testing.
• Evaluate the validity of specimens and test results.
• Document corrective actions for out of range test values.
• Perform venipuncture or capillary puncture to obtain blood specimens.
• Maintain certification as required.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or a related field.
• Eligible for certification by an accreditation agency such as MT (ASCP) or MLS (ASCP).
• Certification must be obtained within 18 months of employment as a medical technologist.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in a clinical laboratory setting is preferred but not required.
