About the position

The Medical Technologist I position at DMC University Laboratories involves performing quantitative and qualitative laboratory tests on patient specimens. This role is essential for analyzing test results, preparing samples, and maintaining accurate records. The technologist will also be responsible for operational duties, maintenance, and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment, while serving as a resource for other laboratory personnel.

Responsibilities

• Perform quantitative and qualitative laboratory tests on patient specimens according to standard laboratory procedures.
• Analyze test results and prepare samples for testing.
• Calculate test findings and maintain accurate records.
• Prepare and determine the validity of solutions, reagents, media stains, and various materials used in testing.
• Process and test all types of laboratory specimens; review and report lab results.
• Perform operational duties, maintenance, and advanced troubleshooting of laboratory instrumentation and equipment.
• Act as a resource to other laboratory personnel.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree from an approved college or university or graduate of an accredited school of medical technology, or equivalent military training.
• Prefer 6 months to 1 year of medical laboratory technologist experience in an acute care facility.
• Registered or registry eligible in accordance with an approved certifying agency (ASCP, NCA, AMT or CSMLS within 12 months of hire).
• Licensure as required by State.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
• Familiarity with high complexity testing regulations.
