About the position

The Medical Technologist plays a crucial role in the laboratory by performing various laboratory procedures safely and efficiently. This position requires adherence to departmental policies and procedures while operating and maintaining laboratory instruments. The technologist will work up to 40 hours a week, rotating between day and night shifts based on unit needs. The role also involves problem-solving with instruments and assisting in the orientation and management of personnel within the unit.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory procedures safely and efficiently.
• Operate and maintain laboratory instruments.
• Assist with orientation and preceptorship of new personnel.
• Address and resolve problems with laboratory instruments independently.
• Attend mandatory education sessions as required by the department.
• Perform any additional duties as requested by the laboratory manager or director.

Requirements

• Must be a certified Medical Technologist.
• Ability to work up to 40 hours a week, including rotating shifts.
• Strong problem-solving skills related to laboratory instruments.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with peers, physicians, and patients.
• Commitment to attending mandatory education sessions.
