The position involves performing, evaluating, and monitoring laboratory tests as authorized within established protocols. The incumbent will select and perform additional procedures when indicated, monitor workflow, and make necessary adjustments to complete work in an appropriate time frame. The position requires collecting specimens from patients of all ages and providing direction, training, and technical assistance to laboratory staff. Specialty testing in various areas and providing direct support for critical care departments are also part of the role. Knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care are essential.
