About the position
The position involves performing routine and special diagnostics testing and lab procedures in various specialty sections of the Clinical Laboratory. This includes areas such as Chemistry, Hematology, Urinalysis, Coagulation, Blood Bank, and Microbiology. The work is expected to be conducted in a prompt, accurate, and reliable manner, adhering to established hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Occasionally, the individual may serve as a general supervisor and assist in training new hires.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine and special diagnostics testing in various specialty sections of the Clinical Laboratory.
- Ensure testing is conducted in a prompt, accurate, and reliable manner according to established policies and procedures.
- Serve as a general supervisor on occasion and assist in training new hires.
Requirements
- 6 months to 1 year of experience working in a clinical laboratory as a Medical Technologist.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology or a related field.
- ASCP/ASMT/NCA/HHS/ASPT certification preferred; Board-eligible for MT certification.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Strong computer, math, verbal, reasoning, and written skills at a college level.
- Proficiency in instrumentation and manual skills acquired during the training period.
