About the position
Central Maine Healthcare is seeking a Medical Technologist to join the Bridgton Hospital Pathology team in a per diem capacity. This role offers flexibility and is ideal for a Medical Technologist looking to work in various laboratory settings, performing routine and complex procedures across multiple disciplines.
Responsibilities
- Performs routine and complex procedures in blood bank, chemistry, hematology, serology, microbiology, urinalysis, and phlebotomy.
- Obtains and receives specimens, performs clinical laboratory tests by standardized procedures, understands method principles, performs quality control, performs preventative maintenance, and interprets results as to accuracy, acceptability, and critical limits.
- Works independently, organizes work to meet established deadlines, records all data obtained, and maintains job competence.
- Performs routine and specialized clinical laboratory procedures according to established standards and procedures, using proper technique and equipment to assure biological and physical safety and accuracy.
- Communicates effectively and maintains interpersonal skills.
Requirements
- Certification as a Medical Technologist MT/MLS/MLT/CLT by ASCP or equivalent, required within 6 months of hire.
- Excellent computer and interpersonal skills.
