About The Position

Memorial Health Meadows Hospital is seeking a Medical Technologist PRN to join our team. This role is crucial in providing patients and physicians with accurate and timely laboratory results to aid in diagnosis and treatment. The Medical Technologist will perform tests and report results of requested laboratory procedures, ensuring high-quality, efficient care for all patients. The position requires a Bachelor’s Degree and certification as a Medical Technologist.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• Certification as an American Medical Technologist, Certified Lab Specialist, Clinical Lab Scientist, MLT or MLS.

Responsibilities

• Perform all approved laboratory procedures in assigned areas of licensure.
• Exercise independent judgment under minimum to moderate supervision.
• Demonstrate skills in performing routine procedures, interpreting results, and taking appropriate actions.
• Organize workload to achieve efficiency and report results in a timely manner.
• Determine the acceptability or rejection of results according to standards set for tests.
• Request assistance from more experienced medical technologists or technical manager when needed.
• Perform, record, and document corrective action when quality control results are not within defined limits.
• Follow best practice methodologies and laboratory compliance policies and procedures.
• Ensure proper operation for high-quality test performance by performing daily maintenance.
• Practice infection control and maintain a well-kept work area.
