About the position

The position involves performing laboratory procedures under the supervision of Laboratory Management and Section Chiefs, ensuring compliance with the standards set by the Laboratory Director. The role requires a combination of education, training, and certification to operate effectively within the laboratory environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory procedures as directed by Laboratory Management and Section Chiefs.
• Ensure compliance with laboratory standards and protocols as approved by the Laboratory Director.
• Interpret laboratory findings using basic scientific and mathematical knowledge.
• Operate, troubleshoot, and repair laboratory instruments as necessary.
• Provide leadership and support to subordinate personnel in the laboratory setting.
• Respond professionally to emergency situations within the laboratory.

Requirements

• Education and certification required for licensure by the State of Tennessee.
• Basic scientific and mathematical knowledge to interpret laboratory findings.
• Computer skills to operate multiple operational systems.
• Mechanical skills to troubleshoot and repair laboratory instruments.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to function as part of a work team and provide leadership.
