About the position

The Medical Training Program Manager oversees the administration of the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine's four-year curriculum leading to the M.D. degree. This role involves managing various courses, ensuring compliance with educational standards, and collaborating with faculty and administrative staff to enhance the curriculum's effectiveness. The position requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and the ability to manage a team while ensuring that educational goals are met.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the Medical Training Program Administrators, including hiring, training, and performance management.
  • Create and maintain a management structure and operating policies for the office.
  • Assist in creating the annual operating budget for the Office of Medical Student Curriculum (OMSC).
  • Establish communication and support for course leaders regarding curriculum management.
  • Initiate course planning and debriefing meetings to evaluate student feedback.
  • Collaborate with instructional designers to facilitate training for curriculum mapping.
  • Propose policies to enhance the curricular mission of the OMSC.
  • Consult with IT and Online Education for curriculum software requirements.
  • Serve as the liaison to the Chief Proctor of the NBME Online Examinations.
  • Manage daily operations of assigned courses and clerkships, ensuring compliance with LCME requirements.
  • Organize course materials for electronic distribution and manage the learning management system (LMS).
  • Prepare final grades and manage student attendance tracking.
  • Develop procedures for the annual rollover of required courses in the curriculum management system.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
  • Four years of related administrative experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's Degree.
  • Experience with medical education, preferably medical student education.
  • Experience supporting higher education curriculum.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge of LCME standards.
  • Experience with OASIS, Canvas, and other educational software.
