About the position

The Medicare Part D Stars Business Analytics Senior Advisor will lead the analytics strategy for Cigna Healthcare within the Medicare Stars program, focusing on Part D measures. This role involves providing operational and analytical support to enhance Cigna's Medicare Star Ratings through data analysis and reporting. The advisor will collaborate with various business areas to develop insights and recommendations that drive improvements in Part D quality and affordability.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of reports and dashboards using self-service technologies like SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), PowerBI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
  • Extract and manipulate large healthcare data using data analytics tools such as Databricks, SAS, SQL, R, Python, Teradata, etc.
  • Identify, analyze, and interpret Part D Stars trends or patterns in data sets through descriptive and advanced statistics.
  • Develop actionable insights and present results to non-technical business partners and stakeholders to drive the decision-making process.
  • Develop methods for improving internal techniques and processes with expertise in creating highly effective, visual graphics that tell complex stories.
  • Work collaboratively and partner with departments across the organization to ensure deliverables are accomplished.
  • Act as a mentor and escalation point for other team analysts on problem solving and providing feedback and guidance on best practices.

Requirements

  • At least eight years of professional experience in healthcare analytics or a related discipline.
  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree in a field related to analytics, data science, statistics, or another related field (or 10+ years relevant work experience).
  • Expert knowledge of the CMS Part D Star Rating System, including Pharmacy, Administrative, and CAHPS Measures.
  • Extensive knowledge of and experience working with pharmacy claims data, customer eligibility data, and customer experience/self-report data.
  • Deep understanding of advanced analytics tools and languages to analyze large data sets, including SQL query development and programming, Tableau and Python - Required; Teradata and Databricks - Preferred.
  • Ability to understand business operations requirements and translate them into technical applications.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills with a proven ability to communicate complex concepts to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills and proven ability to perform in a matrix environment.
  • Strong leadership and project management skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and deal with ambiguity.
