About the position

The Personal Care Medication Aide/Caregiver at St. Andrew's Village is responsible for distributing medications and providing general caregiving duties to residents. This role emphasizes the importance of building meaningful relationships with residents, promoting their psychosocial well-being, and ensuring their daily needs are met. The caregiver acts as an advocate for residents, facilitating social activities and maintaining a clean and safe environment.

Responsibilities

  • Distribute medications and treatments to residents.
  • Perform general caregiving duties and responsibilities.
  • Promote residents' psychosocial well-being through relationship building.
  • Plan and facilitate social activities for residents.
  • Support the household homemaker in maintaining a clean and safe environment.
  • Assist residents with activities of daily living and independent activities.
  • Respond to resident requests for assistance and call bells.
  • Observe residents closely and report changes in needs or conditions.
  • Document services provided to residents and recommend changes in support/service plans.
  • Prepare, administer, and document medications and treatments accurately and safely.
  • Communicate and document any observations regarding residents' conditions.
  • Assist with mealtimes and maintain cleanliness in the household.
  • Assist residents with personal laundry needs.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older unless active on the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide (CNA) registry.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required unless active on the Nurse Aide registry.
  • Ability to successfully complete required medication training.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Previous experience working with older adults preferred.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Positive attitude and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Capable of working as part of a team.
