About the position
Interim Healthcare is seeking Certified Medication Aides to provide care in Long-Term Care Facilities and Assisted Living Settings across various locations including Yankton, Irene, Wakonda, Beresford, Marion, Sioux Falls, Brandon, and Brookings. The role involves PRN, self-scheduling, and contract staffing opportunities. As a Medication Aide, you will be responsible for assisting seniors and individuals with illnesses, injuries, or chronic diseases with their daily activities and medication management. You will work collaboratively with a team to ensure that each patient's care plan is effectively followed and will be required to observe patients and report any changes to the facility supervisor.
Responsibilities
- PRN, Self-Scheduling and/or Contract Staffing in Long-Term Care Facilities, and/or Assisted Living Settings
- Provide Medication Aide care for seniors and those with an illness, injury or chronic disease
- Assist with daily activities such as bathing, toileting, dressing, grooming, hygiene, nail/skin care, eating and nutritional intake, if applicable
- Assist with any applicable medication pass for resident/patients
- Work with a team of nurse aides and/or medication aides to ensure a patient's care plan is followed
- Observe patient as needed and notify facility supervisor of issues requiring a change in care, medication etc.
- Other Medication Aide responsibilities, as needed
Requirements
- Active Certified Medication Aide within South Dakota
- Maintains required certification(s)
- Experience highly preferred and/or required
- Must be 18 years of age, or older
