About the position

The Meeting and Event Operations Specialist is responsible for the co-development and execution of both in-person and virtual meetings and training for Quest Diagnostics. This role involves driving event formation, coordinating learning curriculum development, managing vendor relationships, and overseeing budget creation and management for commercial events. The specialist will support the Commercial team in executing meetings and communications that align with growth initiatives and strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Co-develop and execute in-person and virtual meetings and training for Quest Diagnostics.
  • Drive event formation and coordinate learning curriculum development with functional leaders.
  • Manage vendor relationships and oversee budget creation and management for commercial events.
  • Execute events, manage crises, and assess results post-event.
  • Support the Commercial team in executing meetings, agendas, and communications.
  • Interface with Commercial and functional leaders on messaging, planning, and budgeting for programs.
  • Develop and manage all facets of event management including contract negotiations and vendor partnerships.
  • Collaborate with corporate functions on event preparation and execution, pursuing process improvements.
  • Encourage presenters to meet milestone dates for drafts, finals, and trial-runs.
  • Develop and maintain a calendar of meetings and events for scheduling alignment.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years experience in hotel or event planning industry.
  • Demonstrated financial acumen with experience in budgeting development and management of events.
  • Project management experience using semi-sophisticated planning tools.
  • Bachelor's Degree.

Nice-to-haves

  • Proficiency in social media and PC software (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SFDC).
  • Knowledge of hotel and convention hall operations, capabilities, limitations, and partnerships.
  • Experience with hospitality contracting and event planning resources.
