About the position

Holman is currently accepting applications for the role of Meeting & Event Planner. The principal purpose of this position includes preparing project plans and budgets upon notification of an event, selecting locations, negotiating contracts with vendors, and hiring travel providers. The planner will communicate with senior management to provide updates on event plans, manage logistics, select dining and entertainment venues, and travel to support events. Additionally, the role involves liaising with outside speakers, reviewing event bills, evaluating outcomes, and overseeing in-house functions related to meetings and training programs. The planner will also maintain relationships with third-party travel vendors and perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare project plans and budgets for events upon notification.
  • Select event locations and negotiate contracts with vendors.
  • Hire travel providers including airlines and ground transportation.
  • Communicate with senior management on event progress and provide post-event recaps.
  • Plan meeting logistics including rooms, guest arrivals, and equipment rentals.
  • Select dining and entertainment venues for events.
  • Travel to support events and conduct pre-event site visits.
  • Coordinate with outside speakers and entertainers contracted with Holman.
  • Liaise with staff at events to coordinate details.
  • Review and approve event bills and invoices, ensuring proper cost allocation with accounting.
  • Evaluate outcomes of meetings to determine if goals were achieved and apply findings to future events.
  • Assist Partners in Excellence and HR with internal and recruiting event logistics.
  • Oversee in-house functions such as catered meetings and training programs.
  • Maintain relationships with third-party travel vendors and Holman travel agents.
  • Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, hospitality management or equivalent.
  • Five years of meeting planning or travel experience.
  • Familiarity with Holman's business, leaders, and preferences.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certified Meeting Professions (CMP) credential preferred.
