About the position

The Melt Shop Crew Member II position at Universal Stainless involves assisting in the production of specialty steel products. Responsibilities

• Assisting operators with creating steel ingots from scratch.
• Preparing raw materials for the melting process.
• Helping with the pouring and molding process.
• Organizing, breaking down, and rebuilding launders using hand tools and air-powered tools.
• Moving materials via tow motor and/or removing them with an overhead crane.
• Maintaining housekeeping and organization in the work area.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (Required).
• Prior steel mill or industrial furnace experience.
• Tow motor and crane experience.
• Must have reliable transportation.

Nice-to-haves

• Remote crane experience (1 year preferred).
• Forklift experience (1 year preferred).
• Metal working experience.
