About the position

The Member Assistance DMV Processor I at Credit Union 1 is responsible for processing titles, managing loan files, and ensuring timely communication with dealers and members. This entry-level position involves various administrative tasks related to loan processing and title management, requiring strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Receives titles from dealers and releases checks accordingly.
  • Tracks and maintains check distribution in a log accurately.
  • Receives payoffs and releases titles to dealers and members, closing loan files and releasing credit union liens timely.
  • Processes the paid loans list weekly and sends out appropriate titles to dealers, members, or financial institutions.
  • Maintains title drawer and processes incoming perfected titles, logging and filing them in proper sequence when received.
  • Maintains all areas of UCC processing from initiation to termination and continuation.
  • Prepares and provides lien release letters as needed for members who have lost their titles.
  • Processes Letter of Guarantee in a timely manner.
  • Maintains service events for title requests.
  • Processes Dealer GL transfers to get checks to the branches in a timely manner or vice versa.
  • Processes UCC fees and reporting.
  • Processes fees through Auto Pilot (SWBC) for additional fees not collected at the time of closing or short payoffs.
  • Answers incoming telephone calls from branches, insurance companies, and dealers.
  • Answers loan payoff and title questions.
  • Assists with notary administration as needed, including notarizing lien releases, POAs, and SPOAs.
  • Monitors the department phone queue to ensure calls are being answered and distributed within standards set.
  • Assists with the annual title audit.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • A minimum of one (1) year working in loan administration preferred.
  • Good clerical, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work with many interruptions in a fast-paced atmosphere.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel is desirable.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in loan processing or administration.
  • Familiarity with DMV processes and regulations.
