Summary: Under the direction of the Member Loan Center Manager, this position will increase the number of approved loans disbursed by initiating and building strong relationships with new and existing members. Through personal contact and full utilization of the lending system, work with members to meet lending needs to disburse their consumer loan request in a timely efficient manner.

Requirements

  • Equivalent to High School education with additional broad specialized training equivalent to two years college. Experience can be credited in lieu of education.
  • Three to five years’ experience with a financial institution.
  • Experience interviewing loan applicants.
  • Required to sit, stand and spend long hours using a computer within an office environment
  • Knowledge of the features and benefits of financial institution products and services (to include mortgage products).
  • Knowledge of consumer credit laws; skills in communications, customer service, human relations, on-line computers and business math; ability to work independently and as part of a team, problem solve and make decisions.
  • Must be numbers and detail oriented.

Responsibilities

  • Contact members from the approved but not issued loan report by providing personalized, professional service to members.
  • Schedule and prepare members for a consumer loan closing at a local branch or by utilizing our electronic signature platform as a delivery method.
  • Analyze member needs, match products/ services to maximize member relationships with credit union and increase member wealth.
  • Cross-sell products, automated services and other services to meet these member needs as outlined in established credit union goals.
  • Make outbound calls to existing/potential members to develop loan needs and to solicit new loan business, as needed.
  • Demonstrate the use of automated services to new and existing members in order to increase the percentage of members oriented to automated services.
  • Assist with inbound member service calls as needed to achieved Credit Union service goals.
  • Thoroughly interview members for loan closing, compiling all necessary documentation for a complete loan file, as well define collateral requirements and determine monthly payment schedules.
  • Identify debt held by other institutions and cross-sell loan products to members for the transferring of debt to credit union.
  • Review denied loan requests and make recommendation to supervisor for alternate decision if warranted.
  • Anticipate and/or investigate causes for inadequate results and take corrective actions within limits of credit union corporate objectives.
  • Knowledge and skills will be maintained by keeping abreast of all policies and procedures and through regular training and practice.
  • Process and prepare approved loans for disbursal within authority.
  • Review loan contracts with members for accuracy.
  • Promote loan protection products to protect consumer loans and Visa products.
  • Responsible for specific, measurable goals to increase the number of approved loans disbursed, credit life/disability insurance, cross-sells based on credit union strategic goals.
  • Maintain records on loan activity and prepare loan summary reports.
  • Complete daily, weekly, and monthly statistical reports as required
  • Maintain adherence to all Credit Union policies, procedures and regulatory requirements, while demonstrating professional service skills and financial integrity, as due course of business.
  • Assist management with administrative and operational duties on an as needed basis.
  • Perform other related duties as required or directed.
  • Responsible for completion of applicable training and compliance on federal regulations and APGFCU policies and procedures as related to the duties of this position (Bank Secrecy Act, Information Security as examples, if applicable).
