Member of Technical Staff - Technical Program Manager

About the position

The Technical Program Manager (TPM) role at AI involves leading the development and implementation processes for complex consumer AI products, including Copilot, Bing, and Edge. The TPM will work cross-functionally to design product architecture, manage project schedules, and drive continuous improvement in product quality and performance. This position requires a strong technical background and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring that customer needs and business priorities are met.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Engineering and Business Owners to define program requirements, set priorities, and establish scope, including defining the roadmap and long-term strategy.
• Manage cross-functional dependencies by effectively managing risk and change, optimizing scope, schedule, and resources accordingly.
• Drive technical analysis and development by partnering with cross-functional teams to oversee technical analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, and post-implementation phases.
• Develop a communication plan to proactively communicate program status, issues, and risks to stakeholders.
• Define and track key metrics and quality performance indicators, driving cross-functional execution of program deliverables.
• Implement process improvements across multiple teams and functions, including reducing manual effort through automation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years of experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development, or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects with an emphasis on technical background and an understanding of system architecture.
• Proven ability to solve complex technical problems with attention to detail.
• Experience with project management tools and methodologies, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's Degree AND 10+ years of experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
• Ability to clearly communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Passion for learning new technologies and staying up to date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in web, mobile development, and AI.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to changing requirements and deadlines.
