About the position

The Member Service Specialist IV at Golden 1 Credit Union is responsible for providing exceptional service to members while processing various financial transactions. This role involves engaging with members to identify their financial needs, promoting relevant products and services, and ensuring compliance with credit union policies and regulations. The specialist will also assist in branch operations and may take on leadership responsibilities in the absence of management.

Responsibilities

  • Processes and audits financial transactions including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, payments, and general ledger entries while maintaining a cash drawer.
  • Provides Golden 1 services to members, including cashier's checks, money orders, savings bonds, wire transfers, and debit card issuance.
  • Assesses members' needs while processing transactions and identifies opportunities to help them with Golden 1 products or services.
  • Identifies and reports fraudulent activity to management and the Financial Investigations department.
  • Assists in the proper operation of the ATM and Teller Cash Dispenser Units.
  • May take the lead for opening and closing responsibilities in the absence of management.
  • Activates alarm and ensures confidentiality of all member and credit union information.
  • Maintains current knowledge of all Golden 1 products and services, as well as policies and procedures for teller functions.
  • Engages in consultative dialogue with members to identify current and future financial needs.
  • Processes consumer loan applications and completes the fulfillment of loans when appropriate.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum two years in a leadership role at another financial institution preferred.
  • 1.5+ years in a Member Service Specialist III role preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of Federal Rules and Regulations as applied to credit unions and G1 products.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a leadership role within a financial institution.
  • Proficiency in using EnAct and other banking software.
