About the position

The Member Services Associate plays a crucial role in enhancing the health and wellness of the community by providing exceptional customer service to members, guests, and prospects at the ProHealth West Wood Health & Fitness facility. This part-time position involves managing front desk operations, promoting memberships, and ensuring customer satisfaction through effective communication and service delivery.

Responsibilities

• Oversee interactions at the service desk including opening and closing procedures, answering phones, and point-of-sale transactions.
• Promote and effectively sell memberships and ancillary services such as personal training and nutrition services.
• Schedule appointments using core business software, including reminder calls and cancellations.
• Knowledge of opening and closing procedures, including balancing daily sales and cash drawer management.
• Enroll members by explaining membership details, obtaining signatures, and providing member handbooks.
• Maintain effective communication with all departments via radio as needed.
• Work towards achieving established satisfaction metrics related to member and guest satisfaction.
• Maintain an average of 5 working shifts per month to ensure job performance.
• Stand for the length of the shift, generally 3-6 hours at a time.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• 1 year certificate from college or technical school preferred.
• Minimum 6 months of related experience or training preferred.
• 2-3 years of sales, reception, and computer skills preferred.
• CPR/AED certification required within 90 days of hire.
• Excellent inter-personal and communication skills.
• Ability to work with members in a positive, service-based manner.
• Ability to multi-task and maintain a controlled and professional demeanor.
• Proficient computer skills.
