About the position

The Member Support and Community Engagement position at Girl Scouts-Arizona Cactus-Pine Council focuses on developing and maintaining girl and adult membership within a designated geographic area. This role supports training, program, and fund development activities to achieve Council and team goals, working collaboratively within a team structure. The position emphasizes community engagement and visibility for the Girl Scout organization, ensuring the delivery of programs that promote membership retention and growth.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, extend, and maintain girl and adult membership within a specific geographic area.
  • Collaborate with assigned area team to achieve the goals and objectives of the organization.
  • Analyze data on demographics and membership trends to project specific targets for membership growth.
  • Recruit, manage, evaluate, and recognize a strong volunteer corps to serve girls in the community.
  • Promote visibility for the Girl Scout organization within the community.
  • Ensure the development and delivery of programs for retention and growth of membership.
  • Identify and maintain funding sources to support Council fund development activities.
  • Support volunteer development through various adult learning systems and training courses.
  • Perform other related duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work/volunteer experience.
  • Technical ability and experience with computer input and software, preferably in a Windows environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, public speaking, verbal, and written communication skills, including correct spelling and grammar usage.
  • Ability to collect, evaluate, and creatively utilize data in planning and problem solving.
  • Experience with volunteer management systems and community relationship cultivation.
  • Ability to manage a multi-project workload and meet deadlines.
  • Strong self-motivation and discipline to set and exceed work goals.
  • Ability to handle confidential matters appropriately.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred, with the ability to speak, read, and write in both languages.
  • Willingness to participate in staff development opportunities and self-directed learning.
  • Knowledge of or willingness to learn the Girl Scout program.
