About the position

The Membership Experience Coordinator at the YMCA of the Virginia Peninsulas plays a crucial role in enhancing member retention, engagement, and sales. This position focuses on delivering high-quality service to members and guests while collaborating with center leaders to foster a welcoming and supportive environment. The Coordinator is responsible for overseeing membership administration, leading a team, and ensuring that the YMCA's mission and values are upheld in all interactions.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with member retention, engagement, and membership sales.
  • Ensure the highest quality service to members and guests.
  • Work closely with other center leaders to welcome and engage members and staff.
  • Support membership enrollment and meet revenue and membership goals.
  • Proactively identify and resolve member issues and concerns.
  • Manage daily business and administrative functions related to membership.
  • Assist in hiring, developing, and motivating team members.
  • Oversee the implementation of daily operations of the Welcome Center.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 20 years of age.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a related field; YMCA experience preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year supervisory experience preferred.
  • Must possess business professional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of basic software programs and phone systems.
  • Ability to perform math skills for managing money and accounting procedures.
  • Certification in CPR/First Aid/AED/O2 required within 60 days of hire.
  • Satisfactory completion of a criminal background check and Child Protective Services check.
