About the position

The Membership Sales Director is responsible for leading the sales and acquisition of new membership units while ensuring a strong customer experience to retain existing members. This role involves supporting and developing sales strategies to achieve membership revenue growth and engaging with various departments to meet sales targets. The director will also manage outbound sales efforts and monitor inbound sales performance, working closely with the Member Engagement Team to facilitate sales activities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead sales and acquisition of new membership units.
  • Deliver a strong customer experience to retain membership units.
  • Support the District Membership Sales Director in developing membership acquisition and engagement plans.
  • Manage lead database for accurate and timely entry of leads.
  • Accountable for Key Performance Indicators (KPI) related to sales goals.
  • Make 50-70 outbound calls per day to prospective members to drive lead generation and appointments.
  • Build external market position by developing and closing business relationships.
  • Organize membership events and represent the YMCA at community events.
  • Create a member-focused culture and model relationship-building skills.
  • Monitor membership analytics and implement corrective action plans as needed.
  • Connect new members with program areas and set onboarding appointments.
  • Promote program and membership enrollment during interactions with members.
  • Coordinate program registration logistics for various channels.
  • Participate in annual budget planning and manage the approved budget for membership.
  • Ensure proper implementation of front desk procedures and communicate changes to staff.
  • Lead assigned aspects of the fundraising campaign.
  • Participate in family center and Membership team staff meetings.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in Sales.
  • 1 year of staff supervision experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing or related field required.
  • Ability to address difficult member situations in a professional manner.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and detail-oriented skills.
  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people.
  • Good interpersonal, public relations, and communication skills.
  • Excellent personal computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

  • Bi-lingual in English and Spanish.
