About the position

The Membership Services Coordinator at San Mateo County Community College District is responsible for managing and maintaining a database of members and donors, ensuring accurate tracking of data related to memberships, revenue, and events. This role involves extensive public contact, requiring excellent communication skills and the ability to resolve issues independently. The coordinator will also lead the work of student assistants and volunteers, contributing to the overall mission of promoting educational equity and supporting diverse student populations.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and maintain a database of members and donors.
  • Monitor and respond to member and donor inquiries via email and voicemail.
  • Research, enter, modify, and retrieve membership and donor data.
  • Compile data for reports and track trends in membership and donations.
  • Coordinate direct mail and email communications for fundraising campaigns.
  • Solicit in-kind donations to support fundraising activities.
  • Perform daily database backups and maintain data integrity.
  • Train users on data entry protocols and maintain user credentials for the database.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise student assistants and volunteers.
  • Compose correspondence and other written materials using various software.

Requirements

  • Graduation from high school and an Associate degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field.
  • Successful clerical experience in a membership-focused environment or equivalent education and experience.
  • Extensive experience using databases and computer software applications.
  • Excellent oral communication skills and experience in training others.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Word and Excel, including mail merge and data analysis.
  • Ability to learn new computer applications and update technology skills regularly.
  • Demonstrated skill in multi-tasking and prioritizing workloads.
