About the position

We are looking for a compassionate and committed Memory Care Director for Westmont of Escondido, an Assisted Living and Memory Care senior living community. This role is essential in ensuring that our residents receive the highest quality of care in a friendly, homelike setting. As the Memory Care Director, you will be responsible for overseeing the memory care program, ensuring that it meets the needs of our residents and aligns with our mission of providing exceptional care. You will work closely with a dedicated team to create a supportive environment that fosters dignity and respect for each individual. Your leadership will be crucial in developing and implementing programs that enhance the quality of life for our residents, while also ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. Responsibilities

  • Oversee the memory care program and ensure it meets the needs of residents.
  • Develop and implement programs that enhance the quality of life for residents.
  • Manage hiring, training, and supervision of direct reports and volunteers.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations regarding memory care.
  • Foster a team and community culture consistent with Westmont Living Service Standards.
  • Coordinate direct programming and event planning for older adults.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) in gerontology, therapeutic recreation, health education, or a related field preferred.
  • Three to five years of experience with Alzheimer's disease and other dementias in a residential setting preferred.
  • Two to three years of experience in hiring, training, and managing direct reports and volunteers.
  • Two or more years of experience utilizing resident care, assessment, and medication tracking computer programs.
  • Knowledge of state and federal requirements.
