Responsibilities
- Plans, coordinates, and facilitates a calendar of person-centered dementia-friendly programs.
- Designs a 7-day a week program that is engaging and meets the needs and interests of individual residents.
- Develops a monthly calendar based on residents' shared interests and ensures programs are executed as scheduled.
- Ensures compliance with Brookdale Excellence Standards Tool (BEST) and other regulations.
- Educates families and associates about Alzheimer's disease and dementia care.
- May supervise Clare Bridge Program Assistants, including hiring and performance evaluations.
- Collaborates in planning and participating in special events.
- Reports changes in residents' health to clinical partners and collaborates on interventions.
- Oversees social media content to align with Brookdale's culture and standards.
- Plans and schedules programming events outside the community.
- Maintains department budget and may manage volunteer programs.
- Performs personal care, housekeeping, and dietary responsibilities as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in therapeutic recreation, gerontology, education, or related field preferred.
- Minimum two years of direct programming experience with older adults and persons with dementia preferred.
- Must have a valid driver's license and a current 3-year driving abstract with no more than one moving violation.
