About the position
The Men's Assistant Soccer Coach is responsible for supporting the head coach in managing the soccer program at Rowan-Salisbury Schools. This part-time position involves supervising and advising a staff of school coaches, ensuring adherence to athletic policies, and promoting a positive image of the athletic program within the community. The assistant coach must possess substantial knowledge of soccer, serve as a role model for student athletes, and maintain a focus on good sportsmanship and mental health.
Responsibilities
- Assist the head coach in organizing and supervising the soccer program.
- Advise and coordinate with a staff of school coaches in conjunction with the athletic director and principal.
- Implement athletic policies approved by the Rowan Salisbury Schools Board of Education.
- Train and inform coaching staff, encouraging professional growth and clinic attendance.
- Maintain discipline among athletes and promote cooperation and morale within the team.
- Monitor student athletes' grades and conduct, providing guidance and support.
- Promote the sport within the school and community, recruiting athletes and maintaining good public relations.
Requirements
- Previous successful coaching experience in soccer or a related sport.
- Substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of soccer.
- Ability to organize and supervise a total sports program.
- Strong communication skills to interact with athletes, staff, and the community.
