About The Position

The purpose of this position is to assist the Head Coach in the daily activities related to the Men's Basketball Team. The role operates under the general direction of the Athletic Director and under the direct supervision of the Men's Head Basketball Coach. The position requires a commitment of 20 hours per week during the current school semester.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree from a four-year accredited school or university.
• Related work experience in coaching basketball.

Nice To Haves

• 3-5 years of coaching or playing experience in high school and/or college basketball.
• Additional related work experience in coaching basketball.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Head and Assistant Coaches with the daily activities of the Men's Basketball Team, including daily instruction, pre-season conditioning, pre and post season weight program, and individual player workouts. Monitor all academic progress.
• Recruit year-round by attending high school and junior college games and tournaments, developing a recruiting base with these contacts.
• Work basketball camps during the summer and establish a database of camp teams and contacts.
• Assist coaching with the Developmental Team, drive vans on away trips, and keep accurate records of each game using a scorebook.
• Maintain all equipment for both Developmental Teams and Varsity Teams.
• Perform related accountabilities/responsibilities as required or directed.
