About the position

Bernette Textile Company LLC is looking for a skilled Men's Knitwear & Graphic Designer to join their outdoor apparel team. This role focuses on designing functional knitwear and graphics tailored for outdoor activities, contributing to the brand's growth and aligning with customer needs.

Responsibilities

• Design a range of knits that are functional and on-trend for the outdoor market.
• Research compelling graphic designs and artwork for t-shirts, suntees, and hoodies.
• Conduct seasonal research of the latest developments, trends, materials, and technologies in the outdoor apparel industry.
• Collaborate closely with the product development, merchandising, and marketing teams to ensure designs align with the brand's vision and customer needs.
• Demonstrate a strong attention to detail and function with a focus on quality, fit, and construction.
• Plan, organize, and conduct tech pack handoffs and follow up with vendors.
• Work within established timelines and budgets to deliver high-quality designs on schedule.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or related field
• 5+ years experience as a knitwear designer with graphic design knowledge, preferably in the outdoor industry
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) as well as Excel
• Strong understanding of knitwear construction, materials, and manufacturing processes
• Excellent sketching and illustration skills to bring ideas to life
• A deep appreciation for the outdoor lifestyle and knowledge of the outdoor apparel industry
• Ability to translate the brand's Americana and outdoor authenticity
• A driven and detail-oriented approach to craft, with a commitment to excellence
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
