About the position
The Mental Performance Coach at IMG Academy is responsible for enhancing individual athlete performance through mental conditioning techniques. This role involves conducting sessions on various topics related to sport psychology, teaching vision training, and collaborating with other divisions to support the holistic development of student-athletes. The position requires a strong ability to connect with athletes of different ages and skill levels, and to educate coaches on mental conditioning strategies.
Responsibilities
- Conduct mental conditioning sessions in group and one-on-one settings on topics from the field of Sport Psychology.
- Teach vision training classes to enhance athletes' performance.
- Collaborate with other IMG Academy divisions such as Physical Conditioning, Vision Training, Nutrition, and Leadership.
- Conduct video analysis for athletes to improve their performance.
- Educate coaches on various mental conditioning topics to enhance their coaching effectiveness.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes.
Requirements
- Pursuing or completed Master's Degree in Sport Psychology or a related field.
- Strong work ethic and desire to work collaboratively with colleagues.
- Ability to connect well with younger athletes and establish credibility across IMG Academy's 8 sports.
- Experience in mental conditioning and/or coaching.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organized and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
Nice-to-haves
- Playing, coaching, or managing experience in sports.
- Certified Consultant - AASP accreditation (or in progress).
- Bilingual proficiency.
